The Fifth Avenue Hotel in New York was sold by the Amos A. Eno estate to a syndicate led by Henry Morgenthau for 7 250 000. The lease ends next October and the building will be razed for a modern office block. The sale includes adjacent brown stone and the Madison Square Theater. The hotel, built in 1859, drew elites and politicians, hosting the Amen Corner and figures like Thomas C. Platt.
