Des Moines June 24. Democratic state convention adjourned after adopting a Bryan aligned platform and a unity ticket of two Democrats, two silver Republicans and one Populist for the ballot. A walkout by the middle of the road Populists reduced the number of delegates but the party remained solidly Bryan. The platform reaffirms free coinage of gold and silver at 16 to 1 and endorses Bryan as leader and the broader Democratic cause.
