Ladies' black silk mitts 11 inches, half price. Misses and children's straw and duck hats caps and tams 19 and 39 cents. Ladies' collars and belts at less than half price.

Ernstens Hofmeister born February 22 1828 in Lippe Detmolt Germany died July 24 17 at the home of daughter Mrs Fred Wehrmeier aged 11 years 5 months 2 days she married Henry Hofmeister and emigrated to the United States in 1850 landing at St Louis then moving to Dakota area where she lived until death survived by five sons and one daughter twenty six grandchildren seven great grandchildren and numerous relatives Others noted attendance at services and visits from relatives in nearby towns.
Mrs Anna Downs and son Ralph of Chicago visited her mother Mrs Smith and friends. Mrs Bolander to spend weeks with her daughter Mrs FE Smith at Reedsburg. Post office moved to elevator office with Mr Gift as postmaster. Mrs C H Bolander visiting Mrs C A Smoyer. Mrs Hart and daughter Gladys attended Mrs Martin’s funeral at Red Oak. Several residents attended the Mystic Workers festival at Red Oak. Will Gift at Scioto Mills Saturday. Tom Wohlford of Freeport visited his farm. Mr and Mrs C A Smoyer visited near Dakota. William Weicks visited near Wm. Diveley. Neva Gillett of McConnell visited F E Parriott Saturday.
Miss Irene Markel visits Durand friends while Rev. Trump from Polo preaches at the U B church. Freeport visitors linger at Moss, Lentz, Kortemeier and Meads. several locals entertain and travel between Freeport and surrounding towns. Farmers anticipate threshing if weather holds.
July 30 report from Everts notes a well attended Mission Feast at the German Reformed church. Mrs. Margaret Linder of Freeport visits her country relatives. Miss Hazel Coffman and a Chicago friend visit. Martha Everts and brothers spent Friday with their cousin. Marvin Geuth returns after visiting kin. Annna and Grace Wessels called on Mrs. Charles Dilly. Mr. and Mrs. George Dilly visited Freeport. Cora Ackerman’s surprise party draws a large crowd. all report a good time.
Baileyville report notes John Beck drove to Freeport Tuesday evening. Little Ida Dickkers hosted a birthday party Tuesday afternoon with many presents. Guests left early wishing her happy returns. Mrs Powell of Dixon visited Mrs O Brien last week. Mrs N Stoutfer of Denwick, HI, is mentioned.
Miss Lydia Rorf returns from Forredton after a week with relatives. Miss Etta Neihans visits Freeport for a few days. Mr Simon Wabbena Sr suffers a stroke and is in critical condition. Dr Overfield attends. Mrs John Van Deest travels to Forrest. Etta Loh and Fannie Roskam plan an extended trip to Town and Minnesota.

Letter from New York dated December 16 1906 reports a patient with skin irritation due to motor ing seeking Parisian medical advice and paying 100 francs. The physician recommended Cutiuray which immediate astonishment yielded a perfect cure. French dermatologists have long used Cutiura and even prescribe it at Hospital Saint Louis Paris.
George W. Rugby of Chicago praises Cuticura for his ten children mothered by a deceased wife. He recalls keeping Cuticura products in the home chest and reports success in treating skin and scalp troubles across families.
August 3 notes list Frankie Moore visiting Beloit and several local visitors. Mrs Glasser ill, Rheingans ill, Butter active carrier, others improving. Baby born to Stouffer family July 20. Mrs. John Martin died Tuesday after a long illness. Born in Albany New York in 1854 she leaves her husband and four brothers and a sister. Pallbearers named with Rev Van Alstyne officiating and Kuehner Bros Freeport in charge of funeral. Local social notes mention visitors and family sorrows.
Rock City headlines report community visitors from Freeport and Savanna and a 9 to 5 baseball victory over the Freeport White Sox. Local residents enjoy an ice cream festival on North Main Street August 10 1907, with neighbors urged to attend.
Ladies' Advisory Dept of The Chattanooga Medicine Co offers free advice by letter for women suffering from irregular, scanty, or painful menstrual issues and related symptoms. The ad claims Wine of Cardus purifies blood, relieves headaches, cramps, and nervousness, and invites letters for guidance.

A near accident Friday at the Sandmeter farm occurred while Clarence Annand was raking hay. The rake tongue dropped, frightening horses and throwing him to the ground. He escaped injury, but the rake was totally demolished. Lloyd Rees will farm the Sandmeter place next year. Mrs I Sandmeier visits daughter Mrs W A Koertner.
