A large batch of newly made can sets arrives and will be offered at very low prices this Saturday. The sale emphasizes affordability and expects high demand from shoppers seeking bargains.
Saturday sale features watermelons at 15c each and 1 000 ears of green corn. Cauliflower, beets, cabbage priced 8c each or per head. Fresh fruit assortment advertised. Havemeyer and Rider sugar promoted at 10 lbs for $1.00 with limit. Full cream cheese 12 1 2 c lb. Various crackers, crackers and wafers offered. Salmon, vinegars, Groger snaps, White Satin flour, and sugar cured hams in Freeport promoted.
Otto Dorner of the League of American Wheelmen spoke at the Rock River assembly in Dixon Illinois praising good roads and proposing a cost-sharing plan. He urged state aid and proportional local contributions by property owners, city merchants, rail and insurance interests, and all taxpayers.
