Cincinnati July 29. The messenger boys strike is practically over as Western Union and the Postal Company made no concessions. New boys have worked the past two days and most strikers applied for reinstatement yesterday but must take turns with recent applicants. The union will not be recognized by either company.

Mormon Elders Escape Mob Near Jackson Georgia

Three Mormon elders seized from William Cunnard’s Newton Factory home in Jasper county escaped a pursuing mob by swimming the creek. They reached friends near Jackson and sent for clothes. They report bruises from the fight and bitterness toward Jasper county residents. Mrs. Cunnard was wounded, portion of her jaw shot away.
