Spaniards Flee as U S Troops Press on Toward Santiago

At 4 P M on July 11 the Americans advanced steadily around Santiago and expected its fall within twenty four hours. Spanish trenches yielded dummy wooden guns and few troops as U S forces faced very weak resistance and growing distress in the city.
