From Our Own Correspondent Everts July 1 Mr and Mrs J Carsents Ackley Iowa are here visiting friends. The Henry Bardell dance Friday night was well attended. John Auer Jr and family and Miss Ella Dilly visited Florence Sunday. William Schleichs spent Sunday with Geo Van Loh and family. Frank Dilly called on John Auer Jr Saturday evening. Jacob Guth and Grandma Nix visited Mrs John Scheffner last week. Several locals attended the fad at German Valley Sunny.
From Our Own Correspondent German Valley July 11 updates note Mrs. Geo Denekas recovering well after Freeport operation. Mrs. Dan Fosha ill but slightly improved. O J Reints of Chicago visiting friends and relatives. Former German Valley resident John E Haire now Evanston resident visited Warate. A local feast was held and a race for a new one discussed. Upcoming event tours planned for the community with neighbors and officials coordinating a stand.
Minnie Eaton has been the guest of Miss Cora Fosha for the past week. Mr and Mrs N Hy Jansen were Freeport visitors last Monday.
From Our Own Correspondent Ridott July 1 reports Mr Heilman and Miss Susie Heilman visiting relatives in Ridott and Chicago guests at Mrs James Cole. Families from Chicago, Treeport, Freeport, Dakota and Wheaton are noted visiting Ridott. Alice Cary's birthday party brings friends and gifts. Children’s Day planned at U B Church next Sunday evening.

From Our Own Correspondent Harlem Corners July 1 Miss Martha Carlson returned home from a Freeport visit. Fifteen crates were picked at S R Wagner's fruit farm Wednesday. Some berries were very large with measurements of five and five and a half inches around and one at six. Miss Ruth Stocks of Freeport is visiting her sister Mrs S M Malnix. A Reed and family were Freeport visitors last week. John and Miss Jennie Heaney returned to Freeport Sunday after a short visit with J Heaney and family.
D C Miller visited Freeport. Ed Lieby and family spent Sunday with relatives in War ren. Miss Boud visited Miss Edna Smith. Mrs Dan Harbach and daughter Mary visited relatives in Freeport. Mrs Erilla Shively and Napoleon Williams of Rain Colorado are visiting. Ralph Cook of Winslow called on friends Sunday. Local youths attended a ball game in Warren Thursday. Miss Agness Gaffney of Lena visited her sister for a few days.

Baileyville July 1 Several from here attended the mission feast at German Valley on Wednesday. Mr and Mrs A A Geiger returned home after visiting relatives in Iowa and South Dakota. The Baptist Sunday school picnic at Oakdale park last Thursday was well attended. Miss Amanda Kilker of Adeline was in town Wednesday. Dick Dikken had a runaway last Thursday while driving through.
