New Hunting Licenses and Stricter Game Laws

New licenses require printing on the back and cost 7 cents with a 26 cent form fee. Last year was 7.19 plus a 25 cent fee. The Act tightens protection for game fish quail prairie chickens and waterfowl. Penalties include fines from 15 to 50 dollars and up to ten days in jail. Open season rules ban certain methods and set daily limits of thirty five birds. Non-residents face higher license fees and county approval is required.

New School Laws Compiled by State Superintendent Bayliss

State Superintendent Bayliss issues a compiled copy of the fifteen school laws enacted by the recent general assembly. The material notes reforms on loan security, a shift in funding for deaf and crippled classes, civics and Illinois history exams, and the ending of county superintendent duties. It also records township fund loan totals and unpaid interest and rents on various investments.

Don Juan Loops the Loop at Freeport Show

Deon Juan known as the monkey dare-devil performs a daring mid-air evolution on a centrifugal loop with the Gentry Bros. in Freeport. The new Anais marriage and divorce statutes take effect today, limiting child marriages, banning common law licenses, and restricting remarriage after divorce. The laws impose prison terms for illegal marriages, set minimum ages, and address mob violence, sheriff accountability, and election timing.
