Edna Delano graduates from Harlow college and accepts stenographer position with A. G. Spaulding & Bros in Chicago after a recent grip recovery. Dr. J. A. Poling buys a fast pacer at public auction.
Chas Lynn of Chester Illinois is named special agent for the western division of the rural free delivery system with headquarters in Chicago. He will supervise investigations and tests in the district. Lynn was endorsed by Senator Cullom and previously served as purchasing agent for the Chester penitentiary and as state inspector of building and loan associations.

Mrs H L Martin wife of Elder Martin of Court Street church is seriously ill with diphtheria. Rockford Republic reports special prayer by Dr Pooley and her class. She attended prayer meeting Wednesday. Friday illness began. Dr Green found her throat alarmingly infected. she is advanced in years but active, hope remains she may recover though critical.
A patriotic social to be held at the First M E church on Wednesday evening February 22 features a program of recitations readings and songs including America with a serving of cream cake and homemade candies promised. Mrs Malvina Ritzman through attorney O E Heard has filed for divorce from Charles Ritzman alleging habitual drunkenness. Freeport lodge members held a largely attended session last night and conferred degrees on many candidates. A banquet followed and the lodge reports a prosperous condition with ample work on hand.
A reception will be tendered to Mr Wilson and the bride tomorrow afternoon and evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr and Mrs W W Stebbins, in Silver Creek township. The couple will soon depart for Montana where they will reside.
