Philadelphia inventor John A. Wiedersheim introduces a combined snow shovel and melter designed to melt snow as it piles onto a sloped top. Heated water circulates through hollow chambers cooled by a lamp, melting snow on contact and on the pavement, with rollers aiding propulsion. New Orleans Times-Democrat reports.
Speed of 150 miles per hour is expected in new tests on the high speed electric line near Berlin. Previous experiments on the Berlin to Zossen track reached over 120 miles an hour. Tests will begin within a few months.
