Bishop Edward G. Andrews of the Methodist Episcopal Church died at his Brooklyn home this morning at age 80. The Brooklyn veteran churchman had served across multiple decades and was widely respected within the denomination.
The Pettibone defense rested this morning and offered to submit the case to the jury without further arguments. The report, filed by the Associated Press from Boise on December 31, notes the defense stance as the trial proceeds toward jury deliberation.

A Princeton druggist discussed with Coroner Peck and Deputy Coroner Baumgartner the identity of the man who died by suicide at Lena Friday night. The stranger, who gave the name Berg, has been missing from Princeton for some time. A photograph has been sent to Princeton for identification.
The semi annual examinations in the school of Stephenson county will be held Thursday and Friday February 6 and 7. They will cover all departments and courses offered during the term with schedules posted at the school building.
