Illinois Central plans larger turntable at Madison to handle big engines after ice.
Hunters report a rapid rabbit die off across Rock and Walworth counties with over 200 carcasses found in the snow. Lungs show consumption and one throat swollen resembling diphtheria. Most victims are young. many are blind or unfit for use. Disease spread from Sharon to Harvard and beyond. some areas report no dead rabbits but poor quality game.

A chimney blaze at Jerry Reardon's Madison street home this afternoon appeared serious but was quickly controlled by the third ward hose company. The roof of the kitchen was in flames when responders arrived, yet the fire was extinguished with little damage.
Present financial shortfalls lead church officials to curtail expenses and drop the annual choir costing about 1100 dollars. Mr Burdett will preside at the organ and A C Kennedy will lead congregational singing while the church’s monetary health is reassessed.
