School Children Drowned in Bridge Disaster at Charleston
Charleston West Virginia December 15 Special. The Elk river suspension bridge linking east and west Charleston collapsed today. Four to five dozen children reportedly drowned as teams fell with the bridge. Recovery is slow due to ice floes. Two dead have been taken out. three men and five children were rescued with serious injuries. The bridge, aged fifty two, had long been described as in dangerous condition.
