Albert Edward Mead born December 14 1861 in Manhattan Kansas pursued public school and normal school education then studied law in Chicago and Kansas where he practiced before moving to Blaine Washington. He served as mayor of Blaine in 1892 1893 and later held seats in the Washington house of representatives and as Whatcom county attorney before being elected governor four years ago for a term expiring next month.
