John Hardin, who disappeared from Alto Pass nineteen years ago and was found in Morehouse, Md., has vanished once more. His son William found him absent after arriving in Morehouse. The mother is dead. the children accompanied him previously. No reason for his departure is known.
E L Beach won the Chenoa mayoral race to fill the late Mayor Charles Nickel’s unexpired term. Beach led Nicholas Bauman by 43 votes, is 37, and a prominent local businessman. Nickel was murdered by William Ledua on October 28.
Springfield Dec 7 The Hinoly Central railroad has turned into the office of the state treasurer 550775 dollars. This is the semiannual payment of seven percent interest on the gross earnings of the road. It is believed the total payment this year will exceed 1200000 dollars.
Strong rumors in Peoria Dec 7 claim the Central Railway company which runs the city street railways and controls access to the city has passed into the hands of the McKinley syndicate and the report is now practically confirmed.
Springfield Dec 7 At the annual meeting of the Illinois Millers Association the officers were elected President A Dow Pittsfield Vice President Geo Postal Mascoutah Secretary and treasurer W E Meeks Morris The report lists these names as the newly chosen officers.
