Pension for printers under new typographical union plan
Superannuated printers will receive their first pension under the Typographical union's new pension law this Saturday. Assessments since March 1, 1908, have accrued until the fund holds more than needed for the initial pension. The International Typographical Union adopts a direct pension plan for those over sixty with at least twenty years’ continuous membership. Each pensioner will get 16 dollars for August. The fund grows faster than required and future increases are expected to adjust the pension, not to exceed beneficiaries’ needs.
