From Our Own Correspondent Dakota Aug 21 reports Eva Smith leaves for Lena camp meeting and plans to visit Elizabeth Ill. Miss Della Smoyer set for a musical recital September 1 at I O O F hall. Presbyterian and Cedarville congregations plan a September 25 picnic at Cotherman’s park. Numerous locals are listed with visits, travel, injuries, job changes, and renovations. Interior academy trustees authorize church services in College Chapel, add furnace, remove partitions, repair and paper walls.
Alys I O Peck returned yesterday from Globe hospital after a week’s stay and is improving. Mrs. Mary Scott will visit Mt Chevell on Thursday for several days of relief. H O Peek of Freeport Gas Machinery Co will be in town for company business. Poor City host H B Peek today on business. Gallarin’s circus posters for Stockton exhibit August 28. Preaching next Sunday by Thay C G Miller with services morning and evening. Dioduyes of Chicago visiting old friends in the area. Westcatt family from South Wayne visiting Will Stevens. From Our Own Correspondent Harlem Corners Aug 21 Mrs Lee Rosenstiel hosted relatives. Mabel Sehach of Freeport visited grandparents Mr and Mrs Wagner. Several locals noted visitors and guests from Stockton Rockford Dixon and Seattle. Two cattle owned by Mr Lobdell were struck by lightning Thursday night. Mrs Peter McGurk of Kent spent a couple days here. Local trips included a picnic at Cotherman’s dam near Dakota and visits to Freeport Lancaster and nearby towns.
Damascus correspondent reports Miss Oliver Laird of Lawrence Nebraska will teach and open the fall term Monday August 28. Local residents attended Lena camp meeting. several social visits and camping trips noted. The Phillips farm adds a new grain elevator and a silo is being built. residents from Elgin, Rockford, and nearby towns are mentioned in routine updates.

Numerous residents, visits, and social events recounted including trips to Devil's Lake Winslow Portland Oregon Cedarville threshing season and a Presbyterian picnic at Cotherman’s Park Aug 24.
John Suatter born October 25 1829 in Unton County Buffalo Valley Pa died in Cedarville Illinois after fifty years in the state He was a blacksmith and carriage maker for 56 years He married Catherine Mossner and after her death married Clara Davis He leaves two children Sadie Stella and Allington Suatter The Odd Fellows lodge and Revs L C Schmidt Newcom and Keagle conduct the funeral at United Evangelical church Cedarville cemetery interment noted The family thanks friends and the lodge for support during illness and death.
