Assaulted with hatchet near Scales Mound in cheese factory

In Galena on Aug 18 a 63-year-old German worker John Hubler attacked 30-year-old Chris Heldt with an ax at a cheese factory near Scales Mound. Heldt was wounded in the scalp and taken to Scales Mound Hotel. Hubler was bound over to the next court term with $500 bonds. Also notes a testimonial ad for Electric Bitters by J Emmert.
