Ironwood August 14 Fire destroyed four buildings as John Ramota and family escaped. Suspect Henry Lensol, who ran a candy store in the blamed building, was captured and mobbed while police tried to jail him. Lensol is said to have confessed to being hired by Charles Ross to burn for insurance. Ross was arrested as well. In Lansing, Insurance Commissioner Campbell warned Wolverine Mutual, Tri County and Commercial Fire Insurance of Saginaw that unless they collect assessments in sixty days to cover losses, their policies may be revoked.
