World's Smallest Engine Powered by a Cent

John H. Cunningham, Eaton jeweler, built the tiniest stationary engine known, resting on a 5 cent piece. The device runs on under a pound of steam, with minuscule screws, a three-eighths inch flywheel, and a one-sixteenth inch stroke. The engine, first mounted on a cent, is now on a small stand, powered by a hand pump boiler and gas flame.
