Insurance Conference in Chicago Seeks 15 Percent Commissions

In Curcano August 5 William Trembor of Freeport chairs the non union group planning a Chicago meeting tomorrow to discuss a 15 percent commission basis and rate war avoidance. About forty non union managers are expected, with agents from Allemania and New Hampshire already arriving. The aim is to prevent further rate cuts while considering a school buildings and church rate reduction in Chicago and Cook County. Local Chicago agents expect exclusion from the fight as state affairs await Friday’s decisions.

Dixon August 4 The Rock River Assembly eagerly awaits the arrival of noted divine Talmage. Tomorrow and Friday are labeled Talmage Days with no extra charges. Fatal mushroom feast kills two sisters in Rooxroro

In Rooxroro Illinois on August 4 Misa Urania Lamb 20 and Miss Hita Lamb 14 died from poisoning after eating wild mushrooms gathered in nearby woods. Their father Albert T Lamb traveling salesman for Forest City Furniture and two other children are seriously ill. A doctor was not summoned until Monday morning, too late to save them.

City Treasurer Koehler Resigns. Cleary Elected in Ill

City Treasurer Philip Koehler resigned today after bondsmen withdrawal. The city council elected Dr. M. H. Cleary to succeed him, while James Hudson was appointed president of the board of education. Koehler states his accounts are all right.

Fatal Spree Throws Four to Death in Cincinnati Room

In Cincinnati this morning Ezra Rouse Arthur Guth Roy Carr and Nellie Bennett were suffocated in a room above Otto Adler's restaurant during a wedding celebration. Thirteen others present also drank and smoked. the group shared the room after a wedding.
