Maprio Aug 1 Special says the Spanish government has received a Paris telegram stating the U S reply to the Spanish peace note will be sent to Madrid at once. French German and Austrian ambassadors met the Spanish minister on foreign affairs yesterday.
Paris Aug 1 special The Temps of Madrid says Spain drew up its reply to the United States terms of peace and will accept after official assent. Hostilities in the Antilles are to end and peace is expected to be accomplished before August 15.

Toronto special report states Roman Catholic Bishop John Walsh of Toronto died suddenly last night from heart failure at age 88. The passing ends a long clerical career serving the Toronto diocese and the wider church.
E W Sells, elder of the famed showmen family, died today at Caruulus on August 1 from Bright's disease. The passing ends a long career in circuses and road shows.
Martin Thorn was electrocuted this morning for the murder of William Guldensupe. Thorn showed no emotion and there was no special incident connected with the execution.
The drawing for lots at Oakdale camp grounds occurred this afternoon at Trinity church. Seventy one lots were drawn and eighty hotel rooms were reserved for the camp meeting.
