Testimonial notices from Geneseo Joliet and Joliet area residents claim eye problems including cataracts astigmatism and cross eyes were improved after treatment by Dr M R Moses. Letters praise relief from headaches deafness and vision restoration with remarks on reading writing and gratitude.
Mokgris Illinois April 28 1893 a man reports receiving two pairs of spectacles fitted by Dr M R Moses of Chicago about three years ago. He was totally blind in one eye and a cataract forming in the other. The aid made him able to see again and he calls it the greatest thing on earth.
A public letter from M J Jones and Mrs S Rosenpara commends Dr. M R Moses for exceptional eye care. The writings praise past blindness, improved vision, and cures for cross eyes and granulated eyelids, urging others with weak or deformed eyes to seek his treatment. The note is dated January 13, 1891, in Pana, Illinois.
Letter from Thomas McAllister dated September 16 1893 reports a thirty year struggle with sick headaches. After receiving glasses from Dr Moses on August 10 1892 he claims headaches have not recurred for over a year. Dear Sir the testimony reads as a product endorsement from a patient.
Washington April 2 The senate debated Cuba with Morgan’s belligerency resolution and Gomez letter information adopted while Allen pressed immediate consideration of Rivera’s alleged drumhead trial. Hoar opposed rushing and urged committee review as Mills proposed inquiries on US obligations toward Cuba. The session adjourned to Monday.

Springfield April 2 The senate approved the bill consolidating the supreme court at Springfield with no dissent. The Torrens title bill passed. A measure to strip appointing power from Cook county commissioners president moved on. Senate approved 60000 emergency appropriation for the present general assembly’s employer.
In Lansing Michigan on April 2 the senate debated a curfew measure after voting against an instruction to Michigan congressmen to back a postal savings bank bill. The house moved to third reading of a curfew bill limiting street hours for under 16s to 8 pm in summer and 9 pm in winter with exemptions for newsboys and other child workers.
Milwaukee April 2 The Millers National Association representing major US flour millers protests the 25 percent ad valorem duty on foreign silk belting cloth arguing it cannot be duplicated domestically due to unique atmospheric weaving conditions and seeks relief from the tariff.
Rear Admiral John H. Iussell retired died at his Washington residence after about a month of illness. Born in Frederick Maryland in 1827, he joined the navy as a midshipman at age fourteen.
