Grim death strikes Freeland area with multiple child deaths
The Freeland Upper Lehigh region reports several child deaths from illness and accident. Sarah Gerlach, 3, died at home from dropsy. Sarah Gallagher, 12, died after a brief illness. Catherine Hockgettle, 5, was buried. a two year old from the Stanton family was interred in Freeland cemetery. Also noted are a disorderly house case in Scranton and a union boycott dispute in North Scranton, plus the Wilkesbarre Mercy Hospital murder of Neil Hanlon.

Accidents In Jeddo Mine Injure Two Workers
Two mine incidents this morning left August Zimmerman seriously injured after a coal fall trapped him in the No and mine at Jeddo. Bellas, a motor worker, suffered a badly injured foot and was hospitalized. The funeral for John Gerloch from Upper Lehigh mines was held at Upper Lehigh cemetery with Rev J J Kuntz conducting services.

The shooting contest for a bear ended Saturday at William Gallagher's hotel on South Ridge street with Henry Krouse and Staley of White Haven both claiming the prize and expected to settle the matter amicably. James K. Boyle sold his dwelling on South Centre street to Mary Kasardo for 1950, to be remodeled for a saloon by Andrew Kasardo. Firemen plan their first joint ball at Krell's hall, likely to sell out. delegates chosen in Foster township districts for Republican and Democratic conventions to be held tonight at Osborne hall and Woodside schoolhouse.
