Infant dies in Mason Highway auto crash in Gillespie County
A seven week old baby, Roger Dell Tubb, died of injuries from an automobile accident on the Mason highway at 8 30 am. The open roadster, carrying Mrs Tubb their infant and maid Lillia Kolb overturned after the driver fell asleep. The baby died in a local hospital at 10 am. The accident raised Gillespie County 1938 highway deaths to five with prior crashes on Comfort and Doss highways.

Three Game Law Violators Caught
Game Warden Adolph Heep reports three recent violators. One hunted on a public highway at night on the Llano road and was fined 36 dollars. Another fired at wild turkeys out of season on the Tivydale road and paid 36 dollars. The third killed an 18 pound deer lamb near Eckert and was fined 61 dollars.

Gillespie County voters decide on the old courthouse fate. In county tallies 219 favor tearing down now vs 773 against. 323 favor tearing down after new courthouse, 538 against.
