Fredericksburg PTA Wins Two State Awards in Dallas
The Fredericksburg Elementary Junior High PTA and the Fredericksburg High School PTA received two state honors at the Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers convention in Dallas November 17 to 19. The Elementary Junior High unit earned the Oak Leaf Honor Scroll for magazine subscriptions. both groups shared the Florence Danforth Certificate of Commendation for the State Parent and Family Education Award.

St Marys Mission Week Begins At Parish
St Marys Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish sponsors a week long mission and revival from November 27 to December 5. Rev Msgr Erwin Junaschek says the renewal offers relaxed reflection and thanksgiving and helps attendees realize their God given greatness. Rev Daniel Campbell S J will lead the talks. he is a Colorado native with degrees from St Louis University and Parks Air College and a former Army Air Corps chaplain.

Post Office To Be Closed Thanksgiving
The Post Office will close Thursday November 25 for Thanksgiving Day. No city rural or star route deliveries, and windows closed. Boxholders receive mail as usual. The Austin truck runs on a holiday schedule with later morning and earlier afternoon times. Mail must be dropped before 3 30 p m to connect with the 4 00 p m truck. Stamps available from lobby stamp machine vending eight cent stamps and a penny for a quarter, plus air mail stamps for a penny and a dime.

New Telephone Directory Ready To Go To Press
Fredericksburg will issue a new telephone directory with the 1972 edition. D C Reese says final listings must be in by November 26 for Fredericksburg Stonewall and Willow City residents who need new listings changes or additions. Mailing to customers begins January 21 with a February 1972 date.

The Fredericksburg High School Band won Division I in the Region XI UIL marching contest at Mack Laxson Field Pearsall, marking its 12th straight Class-AAA victory under director Tom C Rhodes. Judges included Joe Rogers New Braunfels and Bob Lewis San Antonio.

San Antonio Man Injured In Cycle Accident
Adrian Balboa 22 sustained injuries in a motorcycle crash 10 miles north of San Antonio on Ranch Road 965 at 4 10 p m Sunday. His wife Susan Marie Balboa received minor bruises. They were taken to Hill Country Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Mrs Henry Lochte Rites Held In Fredericksburg
Mrs Henry Lochte dies at 69 after heart attack in Hill Country Memorial Hospital. Funeral Tuesday at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with Rev Deans and Rev Arbelger officiating. She led Mrs Lochte's Kindergarten for 22 years and taught in public schools ~15 years.
