Visitor Center centerpiece of LBJ State Park plans

The Harper Lions Club hosts its 11th Frontier Day Junior Rodeo in Community Park on Saturday. A 3 p m western parade opens the day with entries from nearby towns, blue red or white rosettes, and Lions Queen Miss Vickie Honig hosting events and presenting awards. Youth events run 4 to 6 p m with bull riding for ages 15 18, plus calf riding, break away calf roping, pole bending, barrel racing, and more. Bronc riding and other show segments begin at 7 15 p m, Kerrville Guadalupe Drill Team performs, and a boot scramble for under 10 follows, with entries available from local organizers.

Memorial Day Services Planned at American Legion Hall
Memorial Day services will be held Thursday May 30 at 8 p m in the American Legion Hall. The four county veterans groups sponsor the event with Msgr Harold Ehlinger as speaker.
