Retirement plan of Army cited by insurance man
Lawrence Knopp of Fredericksburg Texas touts the Army retirement plan as highly attractive for young recruits. He explains that after 20 years service a retiree receives about half the annual pay, calculated as 22 percent of the six month enlisted pay times years of service, with more years yielding higher income. A 30 year career yields about three fourths pay, and a Master or First Sergeant retiring after 30 years would get 155.25 monthly, favorable versus average industrial wages.
