Double Tragedy in Lawton as Okane Family Slain
A coroner's inquest in Lawton Oklahoma found that farmer Daniel Okane killed seven relatives before taking his own life. Witnesses said years of tension with his father James Okane may have driven him to insanity. The family comprised Daniel 48, James 75, wife Mrs Daniel Okane, and five children aged 13, 8, 7, 5 and a baby. Head injuries and razor wounds were noted. A neighbor testified Daniel and family were at his house Sunday evening in good spirits. The body discovery followed a state investigation into local troubles and a later report details a separate Youngstown Ohio wage-fixing indictment against steel firms and local officials.
