Dallas Businessman Slugged After Drive From Dallas
B. J. Ryan, 65, a prominent Dallas businessman, was found semi conscious in a ditch near the San Antonio highway after being abducted and forced to drink by a stranger who took his car and purse. He identified the assailant as a man who forced him to drive, then beat him and left him. Ryan was hospitalized, recovered enough to travel to Corpus Christi with his son. Heavy rains and gales hit the county, with 6 inches in Upper Crabapple and 1.25 inches in the city, while southern areas reported little rain.
