Louis Kuhlmann son of Edwin Kuhlmann stationed at Fort Sam Houston San Antonio is confined to the base hospital after an outing to Port Aransas. An army truck in a convoy of forty overturned after being crowded off the highway by a private truck about 100 miles south of San Antonio. Kuhlmann suffered skull injuries a broken nose several teeth knocked out and other injuries.

Llano Road Contract Let Date Set For July Sixth

Mrs Edg Treibs Wins Trip To Short Course
Mrs Edgar Treibs, clothing demonstrator for the Palo Altec Home Demonstration Club, won first place in the clothing contest at the agricultural building Wednesday June 15 from 9 30 to 4 00. Judges were Miss Maurine Hearn from College Station and Miss Marine Carter from Mason. Dresses were divided into five classes.

Rigger Falls to Doom at Buchanan Dam Construction
Rex Allen a 30 year old rigger died eluding a hoist crane accident near the Buchanan dam site at 3 30 a m Saturday. He fell 70 feet to a rock ledge in Burnet County as the safety belt was unused. The Colorado River Authority reported the death and launched an investigation. Allen reportedly told a companion this would be his last day. He was the first fatality on the dam project.

Robbery Suspect Sentenced In Coleman Bank Case
In 1934 George Dewey Shipley aged 37 was sentenced by a jury to 15 years in the penitentiary for robbing the First National Bank at Coleman. After 18 of 72 veniremen were examined and a difficulty in selecting 34 jurors, attorneys agreed on the penalty and a jury was promptly instructed.

Baron's Creek Bridge Opens After Construction Completed
Gillespie County reports the Baron's Creek bridge on highway 20 opened to traffic last Friday morning after steel I beam and concrete construction by Thomas and Ratliff. The 227 foot bridge carries a 24 foot roadway with caliche approaches. final topping of the highway will come later. Other county highway work continues, including Kerrville road completed on June 16 and updates from Divisional Supervisor D. H. Manigault.

Prominent Judges Visit Here on Route to Kerrville
Judge O. S. Lattimore of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and Dr. George Butte, former Philippine Supreme Court member, stopped in Fredericksburg Saturday afternoon en route to Robert Real's funeral in Kerrville. Lattimore took part in the funeral service. Butte, once a 1924 Republican gubernatorial candidate, later served six years on the Philippine court until independence in 1936.

Widely Known Educator Called To Reward
Fredericksburg mourns Professor Bittner a venerable educator who died at his home at 12 30 pm Tuesday after a 49 year teaching career in Texas. He taught German at Fredericksburg High School from 1896 and previously served in Guadalupe Geronimo Blanco Cave Creek Grapetown and other Texas communities. Survived by widow Clara Merz his life was devoted to education across decades in multiple counties.

Mr and Mrs Otto Braeutigam celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with around eighty relatives and friends at their Fredericksburg area home. The day featured garden flowers, an elegant dinner at noon and supper at seven, with a 2 pm service conducted by Rev Otto Lindenberg of Holy Ghost Church.
