Lutheran minister honored for forty years of service
The Rev. Bracher marked 40 years as pastor of Zions Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg with a celebration attended by fellow clergy and families. Born October 7, 1877 in Langenthal Switzerland, he immigrated to Texas in 1883, studied at Wartburg and Texas Lutheran College, and led missions across Texas before his long Fredericksburg tenure. He served as Texas District treasurer for nearly 25 years and is noted for expanding Lutheran congregations. His hobbies include rock and stamp collecting and archaeology.
