Government raises wheat price at gulf terminals
New York June 26 Julius Barnes US wheat director announced a small increase in the guaranteed price of wheat from 2.28 to 2.30 a bushel at the Gulf terminal markets of Galveston and New Orleans effective July 1 under a Wilson order. He cited abundant ocean tonnage and rising grain movement as reasons to ship more foodstuffs from the gulf ports. No other changes occur at Atlantic and Pacific ports. Subscribe to the Standard.
