Fat Stock Show Slated For Saturday At Fair Grounds
The Gil lespie County Future Farmers fat stock and poultry show will be held at the Fair Grounds next Saturday February 13 sponsored by the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce with prize money for exhibitors. Ringers Out On Bail In Sheep Theft Cases
John Ringer and B C Ringer posted bonds totaling 19006 at Mason to face 44 charges across Mason and Ballinger over alleged sheep thefts. Income Tax Returns Must Be Filed By Mar 15
A deputy collector of Internal Revenue will be at the Court House in Fredericksburg Texas from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on February 23 to assist taxpayers in preparing their returns. The 1936 calendar year return must be filed by March 15, 1937 with the Internal Revenue Collector of this district. A penalty of up to 10,000 dollars or imprisonment up to one year, or both, may be imposed for willful late filing.

City Enforces Traffic Rules Against Center Street Parking
Fredericksburg officials began enforcing a traffic ordinance restricting center of the street parking all day and at 60 degree angles. Signs warn motorists along main thoroughfares from Kraus corner to Hotel Nimitz corner and the Kerrville road area. Cars will be ticketed and summoned to appear before the corporation court.

Mother and daughter die in blaze over doll rescue
Tyler Texas February 4 a six year old girl sought a cherished doll and returned to a burning cottage to save it. Her mother Mrs Marion Smith reentered the flames to rescue her daughter and both died. The child was recovered from the ruins and the mother died later in a Henderson hospital. Double funeral services were held.

El Paso Child Dies After Dane Attack
Pat Boylan seven year old was bitten by a Great Dane last week and died in a hospital after his arm was amputated. The dog was executed by order of Judge Langford. Charges against owner Miss Joteen Sweeney were dismissed. Doctors cited shock as the cause. No rabies found in the dog.

Thieves blew open the office safe of J. G. Cox a Kerrville gasoline agent during a Thursday night break in stealing about 75 dollars in cash while leaving checks intact. The safe door and walls were damaged by two holes from the blast. Entry was gained by breaking a window.

The Kerrville road bridge over Baron’s Creek near Fredericksburg is about to open after completion by Thomas & Ratliff Construction. The 222 foot steel I beam structure with concrete bents spans Baron's Creek linking city sections and replacing the 1935 flood bridge. Work on approaches and riprap, plus a paint coat, are in progress as traffic is prepared to shift in the coming week.
