Mr. B McCarthy was struck in the calf by a .32 automatic rifle bullet near Fredericksburg as he entered a car. He was brought to Fredericksburg doctors Keidel and Witte for surgical care. the deep flesh wound is not expected to prove fatal.
Col A C Kennedy sold his stake in the Fredericksburg Drive-In Station and departs for Del Rio to pursue future business. He leaves behind grateful friends in Fredericksburg who wish him success in his next ventures. A farewell party for Kennedy, Post Commander of the local American Legion, was held at the Legion Hall on Monday night.
Mrs. Milda Ellebracht nee Brodbeck daughter of Hilmar and family from Post Oak Blanco born April 27 1906. She married Edgar Ellebracht on October 21 1926 and lived on a Spring Creek ranch. She died February 6 after childbirth at age 21 years 9 months 10 days. Survived by husband parents in law four brothers and two sisters. Funeral at M E Church South Tuesday at two with interment in city cemetery. Revs Radetzky Vetter and Holly officiated. Male Choirs of M E North sang.

Gillespie County day will offer free admission to school‑age children. The meeting date shifts to the first Friday monthly.
The Sudden Service Garage hosts a new battery factory owned by Messrs. Oehler and Wilke. They have installed the necessary equipment for first class battery manufacture and hired an expert to assist. Operations expected soon.
Mr. Oscar Krauskopf announces a J I Case Threshing Machine Company exhibit at Peters Hall on Monday February 13. The event runs from morning to night with a detailed reel tracing machinery from ore to finished field product. Agricultural and machinery experts will provide advice to attendees. Mr Emil Wiesemann and family attended the funeral of Mrs Edgar Ellebracht.
Oscar Engelhardt 18 son of Mr and Mrs Wm Engelhardt of Reinhold Schmidtzinsky farm five miles from Fredericksburg split the arch of his right foot while cutting cord wood. Several large blood vessels were severed and he bled heavily before reaching Doctors Bolding and Hanus. The wound is painful but he is improving slowly. Prompt recovery wished.
The fishing season closed February 1 in Bandera Medina Kerr Bexar Comal and Guadalupe counties. Catfish and perch were allowed in Medina prior to this closure but are now prohibited. No fish may be taken from February 1 to May 1 in these counties.
The Blue Bonnet bakery publicizes improvements including a large bread machine and cake machine. They will give away 100 loaves to as many customers on February 11 and 50 loaves to as many customers daily for the following week.
The Fredericksburg High School senior class presented The Hoodoo a three act farce in the high school auditorium Friday night February 3. The cast delivered strong performances with each player excelling. Music by fellow students directed by Superintendent Feuge included a piano duet and vocal solo. A large audience applauded warmly and credit was given to Miss Estill and Miss Boutwell for directing the play and to Professor Fence for orchestra direction and effort by all students.
