Winners Announced In Jaycee Yard Contest
Fredericksburg Jaycees named winners in the Christmas Yard Contest after two final events. First place in lighted yards went to the Perry Jung home at 410 Elm Street, sponsored by Fredericksburg Electric Utilities with a $15 prize. First place in decorated yards went to Mr and Mrs Orval Harvey at 619 S Washington for using two stories and porches with festive lights. The religious category winner was Mr and Mrs Bennie Heinen for a simple, thematically true display.

Carriage Hills Illuminated With Luminarios
On December 24 and 25 the Carriage Hills Addition will light driveways and walkways with luminarios from dusk to evening. White paper bags weighted with sand and lit from inside by candles will line properties. A hayride to the Cooper Rabke Home and a church children’s Christmas program on December 25 at 6 pm are planned, with the film Holy Night shown.

Stonewall Youth Leader Phil Fades Back into Public Life
Phil, a longtime member of the Stonewall community, is noted for his varied activities in Fredericksburg High School. He earned roles on Poultry Judging, Meat Judging, and Range Judging teams, and raised turkeys and steers for livestock shows. He participated in JETS German Club and served as secretary of the Stonewall Rodeo Club, Explorer Scout Post 138, and the Stonewall Youth Club. He also served as an altar boy at St. Francis Xavier Church for seven years.

Friday Night Accident Kills Stonewall Youth
A 16-year-old Stonewall boy, Phil Weinheimer, was killed in a private road crash two miles north of Stonewall at 9 45 p m Friday. Three companions were injured and hospitalized at Keidel Memorial Hospital with fractures and lacerations. All four were Fredericksburg High School students returning from a Stonewall Christmas program when the accident occurred on a pasture road.

The Central Texas Electric Cooperative, Inc. has been approved for a $1,891,000 expansion loan to fund system upgrades and service improvements in its service area. The loan supports infrastructure development and future growth for the cooperative.

Phil Weinheimer born August 20 1953 in Fredericksburg son of Roy and Bernice Weinheimer. He worked five years at Gillespie County Fruit Growers packing shed in Stonewall and helped his parents operate ranches near Hereford. Survived by mothers and sisters Brenda Kim Len Don Joy Lea Kip. funeral services held December 22 at Schaetter Funeral Chapel Fredericksburg with burial at St Francis Xavier Church Stonewall after lying in state.
