At the 44th Texas Farm Bureau Convention in Houston Gillespie County members earned three awards. Kenneth Lindig and his wife Linda won the Outstanding Young Farmer and Rancher Award 1977. the county scrapbook earned the Public Information Award. Joe Frantzen earned a runner up in the discussion contest.
