Report notes Calvin Coolidge drafted a 500 word history to be carved on a South Dakota mountainside but sculptor Borglum changed the text and Coolidge refuses the altered version. The affair is likened to Moses on the mountain and a word possibly omitted. Also mentioned: Lady Owen in Paris fell for Dr Gastaud, lent him 10000 francs, then he returned to his wife.

The Fredericksburg Publishing Co. installed the Cox-O-Type press from Goss, the second of its kind in Texas, allowing double-sided eight-page printing at 3500 copies with roll-fed, self feeding operation. A shift to seven columns per page and smaller type increases reading matter while keeping subscription prices. The $8000 investment signals growth for Hill Country readers and advertisers.
The Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Texas wrapped up its first educational chau tauqua at the Lutheran College in Seguin with about 500 attendees. Speakers included Rev. M. Schwartz, Rev. C. L. D. Morrison of Lawton Oklahoma was charged with stealing gasoline at the E-7 Filling Station on South Heights. He drove off after taking fuel and oil, sending proprietor Edward Loth to fetch a small item, and was arrested in Boerne and brought to Fredericksburg. In court Judge A W Petmecky fined him five dollars plus costs. Mr and Mrs J W Conway of San Antonio joined Mrs M A Parrott for a Fredericksburg visit last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Willie Hitzfeld and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Cauley are visiting relatives at Eden and San Angelo in Texas this weekend.
Houston report shows Miriam Ferguson ahead of Ross Sterling in unofficial returns for the Democratic gubernatorial runoff. Sterling appeals for support on honesty in government as totals from 246 of 253 counties indicate Ferguson with a sizable lead. Page 2 continues.
Two young men Victor Danz aged 19 and Alfred Grobe 19% residing near Gold Texas were injured when their coupe went into a ditch struck a boulder and rolled over. They were traveling toward Willow City and tried to pass Charles Billo who assisted after the crash. Injuries included head injuries to Grobe and spinal injuries to Danz with initial serious condition improving. both were taken to Hanus Hospital in Fredericksburg.
An editorial argues that Ferguson’s supporters include both charity-minded Texans and self-serving criminals, with a large bloc backing the proxy governorship. It recalls the Two Governors for the Price of One episode, condemns inflated textbook prices and pardons, and urges vigilance to prevent a second humiliation for Texas.
