Schifferstadt garden preserves historic colonial garden
Schifferstadt, Frederick's oldest standing house built by the Brunner family, is recreating a 1700s kitchen garden and orchard. Volunteers, without pay, designed a garden reflecting Swiss, German and American influences, using heirloom vegetables, herbs and trees. The project aims to educate visitors with signs and demonstrations while hosting spring events and a garden tour.
