Replica Lincoln coffin visits Frederick framing Civil War events
A six foot six inch walnut replica of Lincoln's coffin will arrive July 18 at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine in Frederick for a weekend Abraham Lincoln Exhibit and Medical Living History Extravaganza. The event pairs living history displays, artifacts from Dr. Gordon E. Dammann, and a July 18 10 am skirmish on East Patrick Street with hospital and veteran remembrances, ending July 19 with a cemetery dedication for 16 soldiers buried unmarked at St. John's Cemetery.
