Apr 12-14 Frederick Grounds presents the Arts and Crafts Country Peddler Show with Fridays 4 8 pm Saturdays 9 am pm Sundays 10 am 4 pm Admission 4 kids under 12 free. Also Spring Fling African American Fine Art Fest Apr 13 noon 8 pm Apr 14 11 am 6 pm at Chesapeake Room Silver Spring 8777 Georgia Ave featuring mixed media by African American and West Indian artists.
Frederick based duo Pritchard and Khara juggle careers and families to finish their first short, Will Work for Food. They film on South Market Street with 90 percent of action done, aiming for 15 to 30 minute shorts with moral messages.
Belles' Sports Bar & Grill at Eastgate Shopping Center, Frederick, reopens with a larger dining area, expanded bar and pool area, and 14 pool tables. The menu adds new appetizers and entrees, including bacon wrapped shrimp, spinach dip, seven layer dip, and barbecued pulled pork sandwich. NTN trivia is a new feature alongside existing weekly specials. Smoking remains in the bar area only.
Multiple upcoming activities across Frederick County include pet adoption at the Frederick Towne Mall on April 14 from 1 to 4 pm, Red Cross volunteer orientation April 16 at 2 E Frederick St Walkersville, Aikido classes begin April 20 at Deer Crossing Rec Center, Babe Ruth spring registrations with dates through April 27 at Leats Field, Tree Identification Walk April 16 at Gambrill State Park, and a 10 week ASL course offered by CSD of Maryland with enrollment limited to 12 participants.
