Wages paid to Macon County wage earners in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year totaled $851,264 with an average weekly earning of $55.25 for 1,185 workers. The fourth quarter shows a drop from the third quarter of 1956, a 3.74 percent decline. The state average for the fourth quarter was $52.98 per week.

Town to survey Harrison Avenue property over zoning issue

Coweta Wednesday afternoon saw severe wind with 208 inches of rain reported in 60 minutes. Streams rose to 16 feet, trees ripped apart as a hurricane like force swept through.
