Funeral services for 71 year old W B McGuire were held at Franklin Presbyterian Church with Rev J A Flanagan officiating. Burial followed in Franklin Cemetery. He died after a illness and heart disease at his Georgia road home. Survivors include a widow Margaret Bulgin, children Maggie Plank Hunter McGuire Virginia McGuire Margaret Elizabeth McGuire and Elizabeth McGuire, a brother Patrick McGuire and five grandchildren. He helped organize Western Carolina Telephone Lake Emory and served on Franklin’s board of aldermen. Ted Gillespie Injured in Highway 28 Collision
Ted Gillespie suffered numerous lacerations to his right shoulder arm scalp and face when an automobile said to be driven by him collided with a truck about 6 pm Saturday on highway 28 a few hundred yards east of the Little Tennessee river bridge. He was taken to Angel hospital and reported to be recovering today.
