Finley Leaves School Head Post Amid Army Call
W R Finley principal of the rankup school has resigned after receiving orders to duty with the US army. Dr Pine, reserve major since 1948, to resume army service January 5. G H Houk, Macon County superintendent, says steps are taken to fill the vacancy and ensure a replacement before Finley’s departure. Pending the vacancy, local teachers with proper certification are considered, including W Newlen Highlands teacher, F Summer Highlands principal, and Ray Moses Otter Creek teacher. Five jailed in Prontlin VT auto theft case
Police arrested Folmén and a woman in Prontlin VT Sunday night along with three men on auto theft charges. The group, including John Wolford the driver, were questioned after a 1048 two tone Buick was seized. Wolford admitted stealing the automobile, while others denied knowledge.
