Funeral Held for Charles Ed Reece at Franklin Baptist Church
Funeral services were conducted at Franklin Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon for Charles Ed Reece who died at age 75. He was born in West Virginia April 8 1857 and lived in Macon County for about 55 years. Survived by widow Nora Lewis Reece three daughters Mrs C Mashburn Mrs W G Mashburn and Mrs John B Angel two sons Ben and Davis Reece and others.

Murder charge hearing for Don Anderson case in Burningtown
Two men, Carl and Floyd Welch, are jailed in Macon county on murder charges after Don Anderson, 20, was found frozen in a gully at Kelly Cove near Burningtown. A necklace-like mark and broken neck and rib indicated foul play, while a distillery and mash were found along the escape path.
