Franklin College Hosts Successful Indiana Student Volunteers Conference

The fourth annual Indiana Student Volunteers conference met in Franklin from the 19th to the 24th. Franklin College earned praise for hosting with a strong local committee. The closing union meeting at the Baptist church featured Dr. Arthur Judson Brown of New York City who spoke on why youth go to foreign fields. The four nations quartet from Taylor University performed. Brown outlined three motives for volunteers: spiritual conviction, concern for the heathen, and Christ’s command to preach to every creature. Afternoon talks included Motosa buro Oiwa, Mrs. M. D. Thomas, and W. H. Edwards. Sunday services featured Dr. Charles T. Paul and Rev. Emory Ross sharing missionary work in Liberia and Africa.
