General Knox visits Franklin College for the second time this year. He tours facilities including a gymnasium, Freeman Library, and the heating plant, noting doors are locked everywhere. He jokes about processing a dollar from a student council and says he hopes to stay away longer.
Dr Myron B. Haynes will contact A Balgst campaign for the YMCA meeting on Thursday night February 2, 1911. A bean supper will be served.
The college reports Professor J W Adams head of Biology is ill with nervous prostration after fall term onset. Although he hoped rest would help, his condition prompted concern among faculty and students.
The report notes a 39 to 19 win by State Normal over Teachers and predicts a difficult home game as Rose Poly challenges locals for the secondary state title. It mentions 7:00 start times and student support during a busy playoff period.
The governing board met in regular session on January 27, 2011. A motion to print and post the names of all delinquents and the specified by law section was moved and seconded. Minutes of the board meeting were to be published in The Franklin. Constable served as chairman pro tempore with Ruth Carter as secretary pro tempore.
