Big Nine Drops Freshman Rule In Conference Athletics
The Big Nine Conference meeting in Chicago removed a rule restricting games with schools outside the group that fielded freshmen on their teams. DePauw, Wabash and others had been barred from facing listed opponents like Michigan Aggies Lake Forest Marquette Beloit when freshmen played. Now any Big Nine member may play any school regardless of freshmen use, though the host can require no freshmen.
