Franklin to field basketball team for 1911 season
Franklin prepares for its 1911 basketball season with a new student council management system. About thirty candidates reported to Captain Burton for tryouts, including four holdovers from last year: Wagner Burton Sheek Ritchey. Ed Cook of Indianapolis joins as a veteran addition. The schedule includes Butler State Normal Wabash Hanover and others with home games favored. The season opens with interclass games as sophomores beat juniors 13 to 11 and seniors 16 to 9. Notable performers include Sheek Meyers and Captain Hill who was sidelined by illness.
