Bridge Repairs Underway on St. Francis Road Near Frankfort Square
Repairs to the St. Francis road bridge near Frankfort Square are under way and should finish soon, said Frankfort township supervisor Glenn Coburn. The bridge, site of recent accidents, lies west of the unincorporated subdivision and east of LaGrange road. A March 11 crash destroyed a metal rail when a 1972 station wagon driven by David R. Phillips crashed through, flipped and landed top-down in the creek. Phillips, who had fallen asleep after a long shift, was trapped until an unknown motorist helped him home. He sustained minor injuries to his left thigh and right shin.
